Artist Statement
My work is centered around an ongoing body of work titled Heart to Heart, exploring the quiet emotional bonds that connect all living beings. Through wild horses and the wildlife of the American West, I paint stories of trust, protection, resilience, love, and belonging—moments that transcend species and reflect our shared human experience.
Working in oil, I use expressive brushwork, rich color, and dramatic light to create paintings that feel both intimate and timeless. Rather than simply portraying wildlife, I strive to reveal the spirit of each animal and the silent conversations expressed through a glance, a gesture, or the closeness between them.
Horses have long been a source of healing and inspiration in my own life. Through Heart to Heart, I hope to bring greater awareness to their quiet ability to comfort, teach, and connect us to something deeper within ourselves. My wish is that each painting offers viewers a moment of reflection and reminds them that compassion, courage, and love are woven throughout the natural world—and within us as well..
